Song of Solomon 6 · Grade 3
Down to the Garden
Read the Story
The friends asked where her beloved had gone. They wanted to help her find him.
She said he had gone down to his garden, to the beds of spices. He went to pasture his flock and to gather lilies.
She said, I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine. A husband and wife promise to belong to each other all their lives. In the New Testament, marriage is a picture of Christ's love for His church. Many Christians read the Song this way too. This is an interpretation, not something the Song says directly.
Memory Verse
“I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine. He browses among the lilies.”
