Song of Solomon 4 · Grade 3
A Locked Up Garden
Read the Story
The groom said, Come with me from Lebanon, my bride. Lebanon had tall mountains and cedar trees.
He called her a locked up garden; a locked up spring, a sealed fountain. A locked garden is kept safe. A husband and wife keep their love for each other.
He spoke of a fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, flowing streams from Lebanon. In the New Testament, marriage is a picture of Christ's love for His church. Many Christians read the Song this way too. This is an interpretation, not something the Song says directly.
Memory Verse
“My sister, my bride, is a locked up garden; a locked up spring, a sealed fountain.”
