Psalms 57 · Grade 3

I Will Wake the Dawn

Name Date

Read the Story

The title says David wrote this poem when he fled from Saul, in the cave. He was in danger. He prayed, Be merciful to me, God. In the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge, until disaster has passed.

David said his soul was among lions. But he did not stop trusting. He cried out to God Most High. He said, My heart is steadfast, God. I will sing praises.

David said, Wake up, lute and harp! I will wake up the dawn. He wanted to thank God among the nations. God's great loving kindness reaches to the heavens.

Memory Verse

“My heart is steadfast, God. My heart is steadfast. I will sing, yes, I will sing praises.”
