Psalms 55 · Grade 3
Wings Like a Dove
Read the Story
The title of Psalm 55 calls it a contemplation by David. He is full of fear. His heart is in pain. He says, Oh that I had wings like a dove! Then I would fly away and be at rest.
The worst part is that the one who hurt him was not an enemy. It was his friend. They had walked in God's house together. Now the friend had turned against him.
But David says, As for me, I will call on God. Evening, morning, and at noon he will cry out. God will hear his voice. David tells us, Cast your burden on Yahweh and he will sustain you.
