Psalms 5 · Grade 3

In the Morning

Name Date

Read the Story

The title says this psalm is for the Chief Musician, with the flutes, and that it is a Psalm by David. David asks Yahweh to give ear to his words. He calls God my King and my God. In the morning Yahweh will hear his voice. In the morning David will lay his requests before God and watch.

God is not a God who has pleasure in wickedness. Evil can't live with him. But David will come into God's house in the abundance of God's loving kindness. He will bow toward God's holy temple. He asks Yahweh to lead him and make his way straight.

David prays for all who take refuge in God. Let them rejoice and always shout for joy. Let those who love God's name be joyful. God will bless the righteous. He will surround them with favor as with a shield.

Memory Verse

“Yahweh, in the morning you will hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly.”
