Psalms 142 · Grade 3
A Prayer from the Cave
Read the Story
Psalm 142 is titled A contemplation by David, when he was in the cave. A Prayer. I cry with my voice to Yahweh. I pour out my complaint before him. I tell him my troubles.
David felt alone. He said, Look on my right, and see; for there is no one who is concerned for me.
Then he prayed, You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. He asked God to bring his soul out of prison so he could give thanks. He trusted that the righteous would surround him.
Memory Verse
“I cried to you, Yahweh. I said, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.””
