Psalm 131 is titled A Song of Ascents. By David. It is one of the shortest psalms, but it describes a deep peace. Yahweh, my heart isn't arrogant, nor my eyes lofty. Pride looks down on others and reaches for what belongs to God.

David continues: nor do I concern myself with great matters, or things too wonderful for me. He accepts that some things belong to God alone. Humility is not a lack of thinking; it is trusting God with what we cannot know.

Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother. A nursing baby fusses for milk, but a weaned child sits calmly, content just to be with his mother. David's peace comes from being with God, not from getting what he wants. He ends by inviting all Israel to that hope.
