Psalms 125 · Grade 5
Unshakable Trust
Read and Think
Psalm 125 is titled A Song of Ascents and names no author. Those who trust in Yahweh are as Mount Zion, which can't be moved, but remains forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so Yahweh surrounds his people. The psalm also says wicked rule will not last over the righteous, so that they won't use their hands to do evil.
The singer asks God to do good to the upright in heart. Those who turn to crooked ways will be led away. The psalm ends, Peace be on Israel. In the New Testament, Paul also prays for peace and mercy on God's Israel (Galatians 6:16).
