Psalms 117 · Grade 3
Praise from Every Nation
Read the Story
Psalm 117 has no title. It is the shortest psalm and the shortest chapter in the Bible. It has just two verses.
Verse 1 calls everyone: Praise Yahweh, all you nations! Extol him, all you peoples! To extol means to praise highly.
Verse 2 gives the reason. His loving kindness is great toward us. Yahweh's faithfulness endures forever. In the New Testament, Paul uses this psalm to show that God welcomes people from all nations (Romans 15:11).
Memory Verse
“For his loving kindness is great toward us. Yahweh’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise Yah!”
