Psalms 111 · Grade 3

Where Wisdom Starts

Name Date

Read the Story

Psalm 111 has no title. It begins, Praise Yah! The singer gives thanks to Yahweh with his whole heart. He does it in the congregation, with God's people.

He says Yahweh's works are great. People who delight in them think about them. God's work is honor and majesty. He is gracious and merciful. He gives food to those who fear him. He always remembers his covenant.

God's works are truth and justice. He sent redemption to his people. His name is holy and awesome. The psalm ends with a big idea: the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.

Memory Verse

“The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!”
