Psalms 109 · Grade 3
But I Am in Prayer
Read the Story
Psalm 109 is titled For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. David says that people lied about him and fought against him for no reason. He loved them, but they treated him as an enemy.
David says, but I am in prayer. Then he tells God how hurt and angry he is. He asks God to bring justice to the cruel man who did not show kindness to the poor and needy.
David also asks for help for himself. Help me, Yahweh, my God. He says that people may curse, but God blesses. David ends with praise. God stands at the right hand of the needy to save him.
Memory Verse
“For he will stand at the right hand of the needy, to save him from those who judge his soul.”
