Psalms 107 · Grade 3
Four Rescues
Read the Story
Psalm 107 has no title. It begins, Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good. It tells about four groups of people who were in trouble.
Some wandered in the desert, hungry and thirsty. Some sat in darkness, bound in chains. Some were so sick they could not eat. Some were sailors whose ship went up and down in a great storm.
Each group cried to Yahweh in their trouble. Each time, he saved them. He broke the chains. He sent his word and healed the sick. He made the storm a calm. After each rescue the psalm says, Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness.
Memory Verse
“Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.”
