Psalms 102 · Grade 3
A Prayer When You Feel Weak
Read the Story
Psalm 102 is titled a Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed. He pours out his complaint to Yahweh. He asks God not to hide his face from him.
The singer feels weak. His days are like smoke. He says he is like a pelican in the wilderness and an owl in the waste places. He feels like a sparrow alone on the roof.
Then he turns to God. Yahweh will remain forever. God will have mercy on Zion. He hears the prayer of the destitute. Long ago God laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens will wear out like clothes, but God is the same.
Memory Verse
“But you, Yahweh, will remain forever; your renown endures to all generations.”
