Proverbs 5 · Grade 4

Before Yahweh's Eyes

Name Date

Read and Think

My son, pay attention to my wisdom. Turn your ear to my understanding, that you may maintain discretion. The father teaches his son that God wants husbands and wives to be faithful to each other.

Ignoring wisdom brings regret. A foolish person will groan at the end and say, How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof. I haven't obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor turned my ear to those who instructed me!

The father tells his son to be glad in his own wife and stay faithful to her. God made marriage to be a lifelong promise. For the ways of man are before Yahweh's eyes. He examines all his paths. The evil deeds of the wicked ensnare him.
