Wisdom Calls Out
Read the Story
The proverbs of Solomon were written to know wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7 gives the main idea of the whole book: The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
A father teaches his son. My son, listen to your father's instruction, and don't forsake your mother's teaching. He also says, My son, if sinners entice you, don't consent. He tells his son not to walk on the path with them.
Then wisdom is pictured as a woman. Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She warns people who will not listen. But she says that whoever listens to her will dwell securely.
