The Start of Wisdom

Name Date

Read the Story

The book of Proverbs is full of wise sayings. Many of them are called the proverbs of Solomon. They help us know how to live God's way.

Proverbs says, The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge. To fear God means to love Him and honor Him as great and holy. That is where being wise starts.

A father tells his son to listen to his father and his mother. He says that if sinners try to get him to do wrong, he should not go with them.

Memory Verse

“The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.”
