Numbers 4 · Grade 3
Service in the Tent of Meeting
Read the Story
Numbers 4 describes the work of moving the tabernacle. The Levite men from thirty to fifty years old did this work. The Kohathites had the most holy things.
First Aaron and his sons took down the veil. They covered the ark with it. They covered the table, the lampstand, and the altars with cloths of blue, scarlet, and purple. They added skins and put in the poles.
Only then could the Kohathites carry them. They must not touch the holy things, or they would die. The Gershonites carried the curtains and coverings. The Merarites carried the boards, bars, pillars, and sockets. Everyone served by God's command.
Memory Verse
“According to the commandment of Yahweh they were counted by Moses, everyone according to his service and according to his burden. Thus they were counted by him, as Yahweh commanded Moses.”
