Numbers 21 · Grade 2
The Snake on a Pole
Read the Story
The people were tired of walking. They said, We do not like this food! They spoke against God and Moses.
Snakes came and bit the people. The people said, We have sinned. Please pray for us! Moses prayed for them.
God told Moses to make a snake out of bronze and put it on a pole. Anyone who was bitten could look at it and live. In the New Testament, Jesus said He would be lifted up like the snake (John 3:14-15). Whoever trusts in Him has life.
Memory Verse
“Moses made a serpent of bronze, and set it on the pole. If a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked at the serpent of bronze, he lived.”
