Mark 6 · Grade 3
Like Sheep With a Shepherd
Read the Story
Jesus went to His hometown, but the people there did not believe in Him. He was amazed at their unbelief. Then Jesus sent out the twelve apostles two by two. They preached that people should repent, and they healed many who were sick.
The apostles came back and told Jesus everything. Jesus said, "Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile." But a great crowd followed. Jesus had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. He taught them.
It grew late. There were only five loaves and two fish. Jesus had the people sit in groups on the green grass. He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to hand out. Everyone ate and was filled. That night Jesus walked on the sea to the disciples' boat and said, "Cheer up! It is I! Don't be afraid."
Memory Verse
“He took the five loaves and the two fish; and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves, and he gave to his disciples to set before them, and he divided the two fish among them all.”
