Mark 6 · Grade 2
Come and Rest
Read the Story
Jesus' helpers came back from a trip. They told Jesus all they had done. They were very busy and very tired.
Jesus said, "Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile." They went in a boat to a quiet place.
But many people ran there too! Jesus felt sorry for them. They were like sheep without a shepherd. Jesus taught them many things.
Memory Verse
“He said to them, “Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.”

Take It Home
For families: talk about these together.
- Jesus had compassion on the crowd. What does compassion mean?
- The disciples went out two by two. Why is it good to serve God with a friend?
