Luke 13 · Grade 3
The Mustard Seed
Read the Story
Jesus told people to turn from their sins and come back to God. He told about a fig tree that had no fruit for three years. The gardener asked for one more year to care for it. God is patient, but He wants us to bear good fruit.
On the Sabbath, Jesus healed a woman who had been bent over for eighteen years. The synagogue ruler was upset that Jesus healed on the Sabbath. Jesus said they untie their animals to get water on the Sabbath. Surely this woman should be set free! The people rejoiced.
Jesus said God's Kingdom is like a mustard seed that grows into a tree. It is also like a little yeast that spreads through all the dough. He told people to work hard to enter through the narrow door.
