Leviticus 4 · Grade 3
A Way to Be Forgiven
Read the Story
God told Moses about the sin offering. It was for when someone sinned unintentionally. That means they did not mean to do wrong, but they still broke one of God's commands.
There were different gifts for different people. The anointed priest brought a young bull. The whole congregation brought a young bull. A ruler brought a male goat. Any one of the common people brought a female goat or a female lamb.
Each person laid a hand on the head of the offering. The priest sprinkled the blood and burned the fat on the altar. Again and again the chapter says the priest shall make atonement, and he will be forgiven. God made sure everyone, from leaders to ordinary people, could be forgiven.
Memory Verse
“He shall do this with the bull; as he did with the bull of the sin offering, so he shall do with this; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven.”
