Leviticus 24 · Grade 3
Before Yahweh Continually
Read the Story
Leviticus 24 begins with the lamps in the Tent of Meeting. The people brought pure olive oil beaten for the light. Aaron kept the lamps in order from evening until morning, before Yahweh continually.
Next came the bread. Twelve cakes of fine flour were set in two rows on the pure gold table. Every Sabbath they were set in order again. Then Aaron and his sons ate them in a holy place.
Then a sad event happened. A man cursed the name of God. The people asked Moses what to do, and God said the man must be punished. God's name is holy. God also said there must be one law for the foreigner and the native-born.
Memory Verse
““Command the children of Israel, that they bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.”
