Leviticus 18 · Grade 3

You Shall Live

Name Date

Read the Story

Leviticus 18 begins with God saying, I am Yahweh your God. God reminded Israel who He was. They had lived in Egypt and were going to Canaan. In both lands, people did things God called wrong.

God said, You shall not follow their statutes. Instead, Israel was to keep God's statutes and walk in them. God promised that the one who does them shall live in them.

Most of the chapter gives rules to protect marriage and families. God said the nations had defiled the land by their sins. Israel must be different. God's ways are good for His people.

Memory Verse

“You shall therefore keep my statutes and my ordinances, which if a man does, he shall live in them. I am Yahweh.”
