Leviticus 16 · Grade 2
Two Goats
Read the Story
Once a year, Israel had a very special day. It was called the Day of Atonement. On this day the high priest went into the Most Holy Place.
The high priest took two goats. One goat was offered to God. The other goat was not hurt. The priest put his hands on its head and told God all the sins of the people.
Then a man led that goat far away into the wild land. It was a picture of sins going away. Jesus is our great High Priest. He takes our sins away forever.
Memory Verse
“The goat shall carry all their iniquities on himself to a solitary land, and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.”
