Judges 8 · Grade 2

Who Will Rule?

Name Date

Read the Story

The men of Ephraim were angry at Gideon. Gideon spoke kind words. Then they were not angry anymore.

Gideon and his three hundred men were tired. They asked two towns for bread. The towns said no. Gideon kept chasing the two kings of Midian. He caught them.

The people said, Rule over us! Gideon said, I will not rule over you. God will rule over you. But Gideon made a gold thing from earrings. The people worshiped it. That was a trap. After Gideon died, the people forgot God again.

Memory Verse

Gideon said to them, “I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you. Yahweh shall rule over you.”
