Judges 7 · Grade 2
Too Many Men
Read the Story
Gideon had a big army. But God said Gideon had too many men. Israel might brag that they saved themselves. So God told Gideon to send home all who were afraid. Many went home.
Then God told Gideon to take them to the water. Most knelt down to drink. Three hundred men lapped water from their hands. God said He would save Israel with these three hundred.
At night Gideon heard a man tell a dream. A loaf of barley bread rolled into the camp and knocked a tent down. His men blew trumpets and broke jars with torches inside. The enemy army ran away.
Memory Verse
“Yahweh said to Gideon, “I will save you by the three hundred men who lapped, and deliver the Midianites into your hand. Let all the other people go, each to his own place.””
