Judges 5 · Grade 3
Praise the Lord!
Read the Story
On the day of the victory, Deborah and Barak sang to Yahweh. They praised God. The leaders led, and the people offered themselves willingly.
When God came, the earth shook. The mountains quaked. Before the battle, the main roads were empty. Travelers used side paths. Then Deborah arose, a mother in Israel.
The song praises Zebulun and Naphtali. They risked their lives. It asks why Reuben, Dan, and Asher stayed away. The stars fought from the sky, and the river Kishon swept the enemy away. The song ends with a prayer. Those who love God will be like the sun when it rises.
Memory Verse
““Hear, you kings! Give ear, you princes! I, even I, will sing to Yahweh. I will sing praise to Yahweh, the God of Israel.”
