Judges 18 · Grade 2
Taking What Is Not Theirs
Read the Story
There was no king in Israel. The tribe of Dan wanted land. They sent five men to look for a place.
The five men stopped at Micah's house. They met Micah's priest. Then they found a quiet city named Laish. They told their tribe the land was very good.
Six hundred men of Dan came to Micah's house. They took Micah's idols. They asked the priest to come be their priest. He went with them. Micah cried that they had taken his gods. The tribe of Dan took the city of Laish. They named it Dan. They set up the idol there.
Memory Verse
“They called the name of the city Dan, after the name of Dan their father, who was born to Israel; however the name of the city used to be Laish.”
