Judges 17 · Grade 2
Doing What Seems Right
Read the Story
A man named Micah took his mother's silver. Later he gave it back. His mother said she gave this silver to God. But then she had an idol made from it. That was wrong.
Micah made a house of gods. He made one of his sons a priest. In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
A young Levite came from Bethlehem. He was looking for a place to live. Micah asked him to live with him and be his priest. Micah would pay him. The Levite said yes. Micah said that now God would do good to him. But God had not said to do any of this.
