Judges 15 · Grade 2

Thirsty Samson

Name Date

Read the Story

Samson's wife was given to another man. Samson was angry. He caught three hundred foxes. He tied torches to them. They ran into the Philistines' grain and burned it.

The Philistines came to fight. The men of Judah were afraid. They tied Samson with two new ropes. They took him to the Philistines. Then God's Spirit came on Samson. The ropes fell off like burned thread! Samson beat many Philistines.

Samson was very thirsty. He called to God. He asked if he would die of thirst. God split the ground open. Water came out! Samson drank. He felt strong again. The place was named En Hakkore.

Memory Verse

“But God split the hollow place that is in Lehi, and water came out of it. When he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived. Therefore its name was called En Hakkore, which is in Lehi, to this day.”
