Judges 14 · Grade 2
Out of the Strong
Read the Story
Samson went to a town called Timnah. He saw a Philistine woman. He told his mom and dad, Get her for me as my wife.
On the way, a young lion roared at Samson. God's Spirit came on him. Samson tore the lion with his bare hands. Later he came back. Bees and honey were inside the lion! He ate some honey.
At the wedding feast, Samson told a riddle to thirty young men. Out of the eater came food. Out of the strong came sweetness. They could not guess it. They made his wife find out. Then they said, What is sweeter than honey? What is stronger than a lion? Samson got angry and fought Philistines.
Memory Verse
“He said to them, “Out of the eater came out food. Out of the strong came out sweetness.” They couldn’t in three days declare the riddle.”
