Judges 13 · Grade 3
A Nazirite From the Womb
Read the Story
Israel did evil, and the Philistines ruled forty years. Manoah of the family of the Danites had a wife who was barren.
Yahweh's angel told her she would bear a son. No razor would come on his head, for he would be a Nazirite to God. He would begin to save Israel from the Philistines. Manoah prayed that the man of God would come again to teach them.
God listened to Manoah. The angel came again. Manoah asked his name, but the angel said it was incomprehensible. When Manoah offered a goat on the rock, the angel went up in the flame. Manoah feared they would die, but his wife said God had received their offering. She bore Samson, and Yahweh blessed him.
Memory Verse
“The woman bore a son and named him Samson. The child grew, and Yahweh blessed him.”
