Judges 13 · Grade 2
A Promised Son
Read the Story
Israel did evil again. The Philistines ruled them for forty years. A man named Manoah had a wife. They had no children.
God's angel came to the woman. He said she would have a son. She must not cut his hair. The boy would begin to save Israel. Manoah prayed. He asked God to send the angel again to teach them.
The angel came back. Manoah gave a gift to God on a rock. The fire went up, and the angel went up in the flame! Manoah was afraid. His wife said God would not have shown them this to hurt them. The woman had a son. His name was Samson. God blessed him.
Memory Verse
“The woman bore a son and named him Samson. The child grew, and Yahweh blessed him.”
