Joshua 24 · Grade 3
As for Me and My House
Read the Story
Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem. He told how Yahweh called Abraham, brought Israel out of Egypt, and led them through the wilderness. Yahweh gave them a land on which they had not labored and cities which they didn't build.
Joshua said, Fear Yahweh, and serve him in sincerity and in truth. Choose today whom you will serve. But as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh. The people said, We will serve Yahweh our God, and we will listen to his voice.
Joshua made a covenant with the people. He wrote these words in the book of the law of God. He set up a great stone under the oak by the sanctuary of Yahweh. Then Joshua died at one hundred ten years old.
Memory Verse
“The people said to Joshua, “We will serve Yahweh our God, and we will listen to his voice.””
