Joshua was old now. God said, You are old. There is still much land left.

God said He would drive out the people there. He told Joshua to share the land with the tribes. Each tribe will get a part.

Moses had given land east of the Jordan to two and a half tribes. But the tribe of Levi did not get land. God Himself was their gift.
