Joshua 1 · Grade 3
God's Promise to Joshua
Read the Story
After Moses the servant of Yahweh died, God spoke to Joshua. He told him to lead all the people across the Jordan into the land. God promised that every place their feet walked would be theirs.
God said no enemy would stand against Joshua. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you, God said. I will not fail you nor forsake you. Three times God told him to be strong and courageous. Joshua was to keep the book of the law and think about it day and night.
Joshua told the officers to tell the people to prepare food. The tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half of Manasseh already had land east of the river. They promised to cross over and help their brothers until all had rest.
Memory Verse
