Signs That Show His Glory

Name Date

Read and Think

John calls Jesus' miracles signs, because they point to who He is. The first sign happened at a wedding in Cana. When the wine ran out, Mary turned to Jesus. She trusted Him and told the servants to do whatever He said. Jesus had six large stone jars filled with water, the kind used for Jewish washing. The water became the best wine. Jesus brings joy and does far more than we expect.

His disciples saw His glory and believed in Him. After this, Jesus went to Capernaum with His family and disciples for a few days.

Then Jesus went up to Jerusalem for the Passover. In the temple courts, people were selling oxen, sheep and doves and exchanging money. The temple had become a busy market. Jesus made a whip of cords, drove out the animals, and turned over the tables. His disciples remembered the Scripture that said zeal for God's house would consume Him. When leaders asked for a sign, He said, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. After He rose from the dead, the disciples remembered and believed.
