John 12 · Grade 2

A Gift and a Parade

Name Date

Read the Story

Jesus ate dinner with His friends. Mary took a jar of costly perfume. She poured it on Jesus' feet. The whole house smelled sweet.

The next day, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a young donkey. People waved palm branches. They shouted, Hosanna! Blessed is the King!

Jesus said a seed must go into the ground. Then it grows and makes much fruit. Jesus was telling them He would die and give new life to many.

Memory Verse

“Therefore Mary took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment.”
