Job 37 · Grade 4

With God Is Awesome Majesty

Name Date

Read and Think

As a storm gathered, Elihu said, at this my heart trembles. Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice. God sends His lightning to the ends of the earth. God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can't comprehend.

God commands the weather. He says to the snow, Fall on the earth. By the breath of God, ice is given, and the width of the waters is frozen. The animals take cover. God loads the thick cloud with moisture and guides the clouds wherever He commands.

Elihu said, Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God. Do you know how God controls them? Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty. We can't reach the Almighty, yet in justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress. Elihu said some true things about God, but he was also too harsh with Job, and God Himself has the final word.
