Job 25 · Grade 4
True Words Without Comfort
Read and Think
Bildad's third speech is the shortest in the book. He said dominion and fear are with God, and God makes peace in His high places. He asked, Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise?
These words about God's greatness are true. God rules over everything, and His light reaches everyone. But Bildad used this truth to make a hard point: How then can man be just with God? He even called man a worm.
Bildad was right that no one is perfect before God. But he left out God's care for the people He made. He also still treated Job as guilty. The friends seem to run out of words here, and Zophar does not speak a third time.
