Job 21 · Grade 4
The Wicked Often Prosper
Read and Think
Job asked his friends to listen diligently, since that would be a real comfort. After he had spoken, they could mock on. He said his complaint was not to man.
Job pointed out what anyone could see. The wicked often live long and grow mighty. Their houses are safe, their herds increase, and their children dance to the tambourine and harp. They tell God, Depart from us, for we don't want to know about your ways.
Job asked how often the lamp of the wicked is really put out. Shall any teach God knowledge, since he judges those who are high? One dies at ease and another in bitterness, and both lie down in the dust. Job told the friends their answers held only falsehood.
