Job 20 · Grade 3
The Joy of the Godless
Read the Story
Zophar spoke a second time. He said, I have heard the reproof which puts me to shame. He felt he had to answer Job quickly.
Zophar said the triumphing of the wicked is short. The joy of the godless is but for a moment. He said, He will fly away as a dream, and will not be found.
Zophar said the wicked man swallows riches and will vomit them up again. He said, This is the portion of a wicked man from God. Zophar meant Job. But Job was not wicked, and God later said the friends had not spoken what was right.
Memory Verse
“This is the portion of a wicked man from God, the heritage appointed to him by God.””
