Job 19 · Grade 5
I Will See God
Read and Think
Job asks how long the friends will crush him with words. He feels that God has walled up his way and plucked up his hope like a tree.
His brothers are far from him and his relatives have gone away. His servant does not answer him, and those he loved have turned against him. He cries, Have pity on me, you my friends, for the hand of God has touched me.
Then comes the high point of Job's faith: Oh that my words were now written! … But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. After my skin is destroyed, then I will see God in my flesh, whom I, even I, will see on my side. In the New Testament, Jesus lives forever to make intercession for His people (Hebrews 7:25).
