Jeremiah 46 · Grade 3
Proud Egypt
Read the Story
Jeremiah's book now gives God's messages about the nations. The first is about Egypt. Egypt's army went to fight Babylon by the river Euphrates at a place called Carchemish.
Egypt was proud. It wanted to rise up like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge, and cover the earth. But the battle was the Lord's. Egypt's army was turned back.
God said Babylon would come and strike Egypt. Then God spoke to his own people. God told Jacob, his servant, not to be afraid. God would save them from afar. Jacob would return and be quiet and at ease.
Memory Verse
““But don’t you be afraid, Jacob my servant. Don’t be dismayed, Israel; for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return, and will be quiet and at ease. No one will make him afraid.”
