Jeremiah 45 · Grade 3

Don't Seek Great Things

Name Date

Read the Story

Baruch wrote God's words on a scroll for Jeremiah. It was hard work. The messages were sad, and people did not like them.

Baruch said that God had added sorrow to his pain. He was weary and could find no rest. God heard him and sent him a message through Jeremiah.

God said hard times were coming to the whole land. He told Baruch not to seek great things for himself. But God made a promise. Baruch would escape with his life wherever he went.

Memory Verse

Do you seek great things for yourself? Don’t seek them; for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh,’ says Yahweh, ‘but I will let you escape with your life wherever you go.’”
