Brought Back
Read the Story
Gedaliah was the governor at Mizpah. A man named Ishmael came with ten men and turned against him. Ishmael did great evil. Then he carried away the people who were left at Mizpah. He set out to go to the Ammonites.
Johanan the son of Kareah heard of all the evil Ishmael had done. He took all his men and went to fight with Ishmael. They found him by the great waters in Gibeon.
When the people with Ishmael saw Johanan, they were glad. They turned around and came back to Johanan. Ishmael ran away. Johanan and the people were afraid of Babylon. They stayed near Bethlehem and planned to go to Egypt.
