Jeremiah 39 · Grade 3
Kept Safe
Read the Story
Just as God had warned, the army of Babylon came into Jerusalem. The leaders of the king of Babylon sat in the gate. The people who would not listen to God were carried away.
But God took care of Jeremiah. The king of Babylon gave a command. Take him and take care of him. Do him no harm. They took Jeremiah out of the court of the guard, and he lived among the people.
Before this, God had sent a message to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian. Ebedmelech had saved Jeremiah from the pit. God said he would deliver him in that day. He would not be given to the men he was afraid of. God would save him, because he had put his trust in God.
Memory Verse
“For I will surely save you. You won’t fall by the sword, but you will escape with your life, because you have put your trust in me,” says Yahweh.’””
