Jeremiah 32 · Grade 3
Buying a Field in Hard Times
Read the Story
The king of Babylon's army was around Jerusalem. Jeremiah was shut up in the court of the guard. God told him that his cousin Hanamel would come and ask him to buy his field in Anathoth.
Hanamel came, just as God said. Jeremiah bought the field for seventeen shekels of silver. He signed the deed in front of witnesses. Then Baruch put the deeds in a clay jar so they would last many days.
God said houses and fields and vineyards will yet again be bought in this land. Jeremiah prayed and said nothing was too hard for God. God answered with a question. Is there anything too hard for me? God promised to bring his people back and give them one heart.
Memory Verse
““Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?”
