Jeremiah 21 · Grade 3
Justice in the Morning
Read the Story
The king of Babylon was making war against Jerusalem. King Zedekiah sent two men to Jeremiah. He asked Jeremiah to inquire of God for them. Maybe God would do one of his wondrous works and make the army leave.
God's answer was hard. The people had not turned back to him, so the city would not escape. But God still set before them the way of life and the way of death. They had a choice to make.
God also spoke to the house of the king. He told them to execute justice in the morning. They were to deliver the person who was robbed from the oppressor. God wanted the king to be fair and to protect weak people.
Memory Verse
““You shall say to this people, ‘Yahweh says: “Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.”
